Polish post appoints two new vice presidents in strategic reshuffle

Polish Post, the state-owned postal operator, has filled two key managerial positions following qualification procedures conducted by its supervisory board. Jacek Fijałkowski will take over as vice president for finance from July 1, while Maciej Klukowski will become vice president for real estate assets starting June 16.

The appointments mark a significant step in strengthening the company’s leadership as it navigates the challenges of digital transformation and market competition. Both new executives bring extensive experience from different sectors, reflecting Polish Post’s strategy to diversify its expertise.

New vice president for finance

Jacek Fijałkowski, who succeeds Wiesław Strąk in the finance role, has built his career in the telecommunications and IT sectors. He spent many years in management positions within the ACTUS Group, a company specialising in telecom services and IT solutions. His move from the technology sector to a traditional state-owned enterprise signals Polish Post’s ambition to modernise its financial operations and embrace digital tools.

New vice president for real estate assets

Maciej Klukowski, the incoming vice president for real estate, has a strong background in property management. Until May 2026, he served on the board of Polski Holding Nieruchomości (PHN), a major Polish real estate group, where he was responsible for managing the company’s asset portfolio. Earlier, he worked at Metrohouse and Duna House, two prominent real estate agencies. Klukowski was removed from PHN’s board at the end of May, and his appointment at Polish Post is seen as a move to optimise the operator’s extensive property holdings.

The supervisory board’s decisions come amid broader restructuring efforts at Polish Post, which has been seeking to improve efficiency and reduce costs. The company, which employs tens of thousands of people, has been grappling with declining traditional mail volumes and increasing competition from private couriers. The new vice presidents are expected to play a crucial role in driving financial discipline and making better use of the company’s real estate assets, which include thousands of post offices and logistics facilities across Poland.
