Poczta Polska has completed the recruitment process for two key positions on its management board. Jacek Fijałkowski will become vice president for finance from July 1, while Maciej Klukowski takes over as vice president for real estate assets from June 16.
The state-owned postal operator announced the appointments after a formal qualification procedure conducted by the supervisory board. The move is part of a broader effort to strengthen the company’s leadership as it grapples with digital transformation and a changing logistics market.
Jacek Fijałkowski, a long-time manager in the ACTUS group specializing in telecommunications and IT services, will replace Wiesław Strąk as the new finance chief. His appointment marks a shift from the technology sector to one of Poland’s largest state-owned enterprises. Fijałkowski’s experience in managing large-scale IT projects is expected to help modernize the postal service’s financial operations and digital infrastructure.
New finance chief with a tech background
Fijałkowski built his career in the ACTUS group, where he held various leadership roles overseeing finance, strategy, and operations. His background in the fast-evolving telecom and IT industry is seen as an asset for Poczta Polska, which is under pressure to digitize services and cut costs. The company has been investing in e-commerce solutions, parcel lockers, and digital post offices to compete with private couriers.
The supervisory board highlighted that Fijałkowski’s knowledge of financial management in technology-driven environments was a decisive factor in his selection. He will take over the position on July 1, 2026.
Real estate expert joins the board
Maciej Klukowski, until recently a board member of Polski Holding Nieruchomości (PHN), will become vice president for real estate assets starting June 16. He was responsible for managing the group’s property portfolio, which includes commercial, residential, and logistics assets. Before PHN, Klukowski held positions at Metrohouse and Duna House, gaining extensive experience in the real estate market.
His departure from PHN came at the end of May 2026, following a decision by the company’s supervisory board. At Poczta Polska, he will oversee one of the largest real estate portfolios in the country, comprising thousands of post offices, sorting centers, and warehouses across Poland. The company has been exploring ways to monetize some of its properties, including potential sales or leasebacks, to generate funds for modernization.
Both appointments are effective in June and July 2026, as Poczta Polska seeks to stabilize its management team after a period of turnover. The new vice presidents will work with the current CEO to execute the company’s restructuring plan, which aims to return to profitability by 2027.
