Polish construction and energy services company Onde, part of the Erbud capital group, has signed a multi-million contract for the construction of a photovoltaic power plant. The agreement covers comprehensive electrical power engineering and necessary construction works for a solar farm located in Poland.
The contract was concluded with a Polish special purpose vehicle belonging to a capital group of an investor from the renewable energy sector. The exact value of the order has not been disclosed, but the company described it as a multi-million contract. The project is expected to be completed within the next year, further expanding Onde’s portfolio in the solar energy segment.
Onde has been active in the photovoltaic market for several years, executing both large-scale utility-scale farms and smaller commercial installations. The latest deal comes at a time when the company is working hard to improve its financial performance after a challenging first quarter.
Q1 results show decline amid tough market conditions
The company recently published its financial report for the first three months of 2026. Revenues from the sale of products, goods and materials amounted to PLN 98.8 million, down by 36.5% year-on-year. The decline in revenue was accompanied by a drop in cost of goods sold, which fell by 39.3% compared to the same period last year. – In the first quarter of 2026, in a demanding business environment and unfavorable weather conditions, the Onde group generated revenues of PLN 98.8 million, i.e. lower by PLN 56.9 million than a year earlier. At the same time, it recorded a decrease in the cost of goods sold by PLN 56.5 million year-on-year – stated the company’s board in the management report.
Onde’s strategic role in the renewable energy sector
The new contract underlines Onde’s position as a key player in the Polish renewable energy construction market. The company not only delivers electrical installations but also carries out general construction work for PV farms. With Poland aiming to significantly increase its installed solar capacity in the coming years, Onde is well placed to benefit from the investment wave. The company is part of the Erbud group, one of the largest construction firms in Poland, which gives it financial stability and access to a wide network of subcontractors and suppliers.
The photovoltaic farm covered by the latest agreement will contribute to reducing carbon emissions and increasing the share of green energy in the national grid. Poland currently has over 20 GW of installed photovoltaic capacity and is adding new projects at a rapid pace, supported by government auctions and corporate power purchase agreements. Onde has already carried out several similar projects with capacities ranging from a few megawatts to over 100 MW.
Despite the current weaker financial results, the company’s backlog of orders remains robust. The management is optimistic about the second half of the year, expecting an acceleration in revenue growth as more contracts move into the execution phase. The new photovoltaic contract is a step in that direction, providing work for the coming quarters and strengthening Onde’s position in the renewable energy segment.
