Polish company develops digital shield for the army. Bastion will use AI and drone data

CloudFerro, a Polish provider of sovereign cloud computing, has unveiled a new line of mobile cloud solutions designed for the Polish Armed Forces, state security services, and critical infrastructure operators. Named Bastion, the system enables local data processing and analytical tools directly at the site of operations, integrating AI and drone feeds.

The system is built to support simultaneous operations across multiple domains, automatically aggregating data from satellites, drones, ground sensors, and cyber sources. It can function in stationary and mobile environments, even with limited or temporarily unavailable connectivity.

– Information is becoming one of the key operational resources – said Maciej Krzyżanowski, CEO of CloudFerro. – That is why, alongside traditional defense capabilities, digital infrastructure that allows safe data analysis and decision-making is equally important. Our ambition is to develop Polish technological competencies in areas critical for national security, leveraging experience from strategic projects for European public institutions and the space sector.

What is Bastion?

Bastion is a mobile cloud designed for operational use. It allows for secure, local processing and storage of sensitive data without relying on external network infrastructure. The system integrates satellite imagery, drone data, terrain sensors, and AI-based analysis tools, all within a user-controlled environment.

The solution is aimed at both military applications and civilian protection tasks, such as critical infrastructure protection, crisis response, and public safety. CloudFerro presented Bastion during a signing ceremony of a contract with the Ministry of National Defense, followed by an expert debate on the role of data, AI, and sovereign infrastructure in building state resilience.

Strategic importance for Poland

The development of Bastion comes as Poland intensifies its focus on cybersecurity and digital defense. The system is designed to handle data classified as critical, offering high security, operational resilience, and full control over information. CloudFerro’s CEO noted that the company already provides cloud services to the European Space Agency, EUMETSAT, and the Polish Space Agency, and manages the Copernicus Data Space Ecosystem.

Further discussions on cybersecurity and related technologies are scheduled for the CYBERSEC EXPO & FORUM, taking place in Katowice on June 15–16, 2026. The event will gather experts from government, military, and industry to address emerging threats and digital defense solutions.
