Żabka Group generated PLN 14.666 billion in consolidated revenue in the first half of 2026, a 14.7% year-on-year increase, with net profit of PLN 249 million. The double-digit growth was driven in large part by a network that has now surpassed 13,000 stores.
The company opened 778 new stores between January and June, bringing its total to 13,063 at the end of the period. At the same time, 54 outlets were closed, 26 fewer than in the first half of 2025, and the closure rate improved from 0.7% to 0.4% of the entire store base.
Expansion is the strongest of the three growth sources identified by the group. Store openings added PLN 1.164 billion to sales to end customers year on year. Like-for-like sales contributed PLN 497 million, while the so-called New Growth Engines – foreign markets and e-commerce – generated PLN 204 million.
Profitability and full-year goals
Adjusted EBITDA rose 15.1% year on year to PLN 1.903 billion. The adjusted margin reached 11.5%, up 0.3 percentage points from the first quarter of the previous year.
– In the first half of the year, we once again confirmed the strength and resilience of the Żabka Group’s business model. We achieved double-digit growth in sales to end customers, accelerated like-for-like sales growth in Q2, expanded our network in line with assumptions and continued to improve profitability. – said Tomasz Suchański, CEO of Żabka Group.
This year the group plans to open more than 1,300 stores, after 778 openings recorded between January and June.
Abandoned acquisition plans
The financial report was published just days after Japan’s Seven & i Holdings resigned from an investment in Żabka Group. The company controls the global Seven-Eleven chain. In mid-July, the Nikkei business daily reported that Seven & i was in the final stage of talks on entering the Polish group.
According to unofficial reports, the Japanese giant was to buy several dozen percent of shares from funds and other investors, and the deal could be worth hundreds of billions of yen. Earlier information about the possible investment had caused a sharp jump in the company’s share price.
