Wizz air launches ai-powered holiday platform to challenge traditional tour operators

Wizz Air has unveiled Wizz Holiday, a new AI-driven platform designed to let travelers build their own vacation packages by combining flights, hotels, transfers, and local experiences. The move directly challenges traditional tour operators, including those popular among Polish tourists. The platform will be available in all countries served by the Hungarian carrier, with Poland as a key market.

Announced in Rome, Wizz Holiday is not a standard holiday package service. Users can mix and match flights, accommodation, ground transfers – including public transport – and book tours activities on the spot. The system uses advanced artificial intelligence to suggest routes and combinations, allowing trips that span multiple cities and countries without the traveler having to coordinate separate bookings.

– Our main business is flying, that’s what we are experts in. So we provide the flights, but we work with an external partner who handles the entire technical side, as well as hotels, transfers and everything else – explained Silvia Mosquera, chief commercial officer at Wizz Air.

How wizz holiday differs from traditional packages

Wizz Air emphasized that the new service is not a revival of Wizz Tours, its former online travel agency shut down six years ago. – That was a classic package holiday provider. Wizz Holiday is much more flexible – the user independently selects the elements of the trip, and the platform enables the creation of dynamic packages – added Mosquera.

The airline sees the growing use of AI tools like ChatGPT, Gemini, and Copilot for travel planning as a natural fit. – Users are increasingly using these tools to search for and get recommendations on travel, so Wizz Holiday should also be integrated with that way of searching – said Andras Rado, corporate communications manager at Wizz Air.

Customer protection and availability in Poland

Wizz Air works with an external technology partner who formally handles all transactions and takes responsibility for the entire package. – We have a separate call center number and it works differently than standard flight booking support. The customer gets protection similar to that of a regular tour operator. There is no difference – our provider takes responsibility for every stage of the trip – assured Mosquera.

From October 2026, Wizz Air will launch new routes from Poland to Egypt, operating from Warsaw-Modlin, Gdańsk, Katowice and Kraków. Wizz Air is currently the second largest carrier in Poland by passenger numbers, after Ryanair and ahead of PLL LOT. It operates a fleet of 257 Airbus A320 and A321 aircraft, nearly two-thirds of which are the newer A321neo. It offers 233 routes from Poland to 33 countries. The company is listed on the London Stock Exchange.
