The Industry for Defense conference will take place on October 14, 2026, at the International Congress Center in Katowice, bringing together representatives from industry, public administration, finance, R&D, and the military. The event will focus on how to leverage the unprecedented scale of defense investments to build lasting industrial competencies.
Central to the debate will be questions about increasing the production potential of Polish companies, developing dual-use technologies, and effectively utilizing growing defense budgets. Participants will explore ways to expand manufacturing of ammunition, electronics, unmanned systems, and advanced digital technologies, while also boosting the role of Polish enterprises in strategic security programs.
The conference is designed to bridge theory and practice. It will be accompanied by several specialized industry events and trade fairs, creating a comprehensive platform for knowledge exchange and business networking.
Industry for defense – key topics
One of the main threads will be the development of ammunition production capacity. Poland has significantly increased its ammunition orders in recent years, and the conference will address how to sustain this momentum and build resilient supply chains.
Another crucial area is electronics and unmanned systems. The war in Ukraine has shown the critical role of drones and electronic warfare, and Polish companies are already active in these fields. The aim is to accelerate innovation and scale up production.
– The key is to synchronize military needs with industrial capabilities. We need to create a system where orders translate into long-term investments in factories and skills – said Michał Nowak, conference director.
Digital technologies and cyber security will also be high on the agenda. Participants will discuss how to integrate AI, data analytics, and secure communications into defense systems while strengthening Poland’s cyber resilience.
Accompanying events and trade fairs
The conference is part of a larger ecosystem of events. The Forum of New Industry will host debates on the future of industry amid geopolitical shifts and energy transition, focusing on strategic independence.
The International Fair of Machine Tools, Tools and Processing Technologies – TOOLEX – is one of the largest events of its kind in Poland, showcasing the latest in machining and tooling. Meanwhile, ExpoWELDING, the leading welding trade fair in Poland and a recognized European event, will present welding equipment, software, and automation solutions.
– We want to create a synergy between defense needs and civilian industrial innovation. Many technologies have dual-use potential, and our goal is to unlock that potential for both sectors – added Anna Wiśniewska, industry analyst.
The combination of a high-level conference with major trade fairs gives attendees a unique chance to see cutting-edge equipment and discuss business opportunities face-to-face. Organizers expect hundreds of participants from Poland and abroad.
