Trump issues order: 'I hope you will miss me’

Donald Trump announced that the US military has been ordered to unleash a massive strike on Iran, warning that 1,000 missiles are already targeted and loaded. The president responded to reports of an assassination plot against him, denying that Israel had provided the intelligence and stating he has long been at the top of Iran’s kill list.

In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump wrote that “1000 missiles are already targeted and loaded, aimed at the Islamic Republic of Iran” and that “thousands more are to be launched immediately” if Tehran acts on threats to assassinate him. He declared that the military is “ready, willing, and able, for a period of one year, with possibility of extension, to completely decimate and destroy all areas of Iran.”

Trump denies Israeli warning

The president contradicted press reports that Israel had recently briefed the United States about an Iranian plot targeting him. – No, no. Israel did not come out with anything. I have been number one for a long time and that’s life – he told the New York Post in a phone interview. – I hope you will miss me – he added.

According to the Wall Street Journal, the warning, though not considered highly credible, prompted the White House to have Trump return from the NATO summit in Turkey aboard an older Air Force One rather than the new Qatari-donated aircraft, which lacks certain anti-missile systems. Asked about the switch during the summit, Trump said he wanted soldiers at Mildenhall base in the UK to see the new plane, where the exchange occurred.

Long history of threats

Trump stated that there is no new specific assassination plan from Iran, but acknowledged that the Islamic Republic has desired his death for years. – I have been on their list for a long time. That’s what we are dealing with – he said. The president also revealed that he left instructions for the military to “literally bomb them at a level never seen before” if anything happens to him.

Iran has had a motive for revenge since the 2020 killing of Qassem Soleimani, the commander of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps’ Quds Force, ordered by Trump during his first term. American intelligence later uncovered and foiled assassination attempts against Trump’s former national security adviser John Bolton and former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.

Trump’s latest statements come amid heightened tensions between Washington and Tehran, with the president warning that any attack on his life would trigger an overwhelming response.
