Trakcja reports sharp rise in EBITDA and gross profit for first half of 2026

Trakcja, one of Poland’s largest infrastructure and energy construction companies, posted estimated revenue of nearly PLN 667 million in the first half of 2026, up from PLN 577 million a year earlier. Gross profit on sales surged to PLN 55.92 million from PLN 20.17 million, while EBITDA reached PLN 49.89 million, compared to PLN 17.28 million in the same period of 2025.

The Warsaw Stock Exchange-listed firm, which derives about 65% of its orders from state rail manager PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe, released the preliminary figures on Wednesday, July 29. The company cautioned that the numbers are subject to review by an auditor and may change before the consolidated half-year report is published on September 25.

Revenue and profitability jump

Revenue for the first six months of 2026 stood at PLN 666.93 million, compared to PLN 576.99 million in the same period last year. Gross profit on sales improved more than twofold to PLN 55.92 million, while gross profit totaled PLN 43.07 million – a sharp rebound from just PLN 2.31 million in the first half of 2025. EBITDA, a key measure of operating performance, rose to PLN 49.89 million from PLN 17.28 million.

The company’s management said the data are based on completed book closing and reliable financial estimates, but stressed they remain provisional until audited.

Core business and market position

Trakcja, listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange since 2008, focuses on rail infrastructure, road construction, energy projects, and urban tram systems. PKP PLK remains its dominant client, accounting for roughly two-thirds of the order book. The company’s results reflect a recovery in Poland’s rail investment cycle and improved project execution.

The final audited figures will be disclosed in the consolidated half-year report scheduled for September 25. Investors are watching closely as the company continues to benefit from large-scale railway modernisation programs funded by EU and national budgets.
