Unimot Renewables, a subsidiary of the Unimot Group, has signed an agreement to acquire 100 percent of the shares in the special purpose vehicle Wind T11, which is developing the Gostynin wind farm with a total installed capacity of 34.2 MW. The purchase price amounts to 51 million PLN, marking the company’s first step toward becoming an independent power producer.
The project consists of nine Vestas turbines, each with a capacity of 3.8 MW. The transaction includes the farm project along with environmental decisions, permits, rights and technical documentation. Completion of the investment is scheduled for the first half of 2028, according to a statement released by Unimot.
Estimated total investment expenditure for the project will reach 302 million PLN. Loans granted and planned to be granted by Unimot to Unimot Renewables in connection with the acquisition of Wind T11 and the project implementation will amount to up to 135 million PLN.
A strategic shift toward renewable energy
This transaction marks the first phase of the Unimot Group’s implementation of the Independent Power Producer model, which involves developing, building, owning and operating its own renewable energy assets. The company aims to combine the investment and ownership expertise of Unimot Renewables with the competencies of Unimot Energia i Gaz in energy contracting, electricity sales, commercial balancing and energy portfolio management.
Unimot assesses that merging these capabilities will provide a significant competitive advantage for the IPP platform under construction and support long-term revenue generation from its own renewable energy production.
Financial details and market perspective
The acquisition price of 51 million PLN for the SPV shares reflects the value of the fully permitted project. Unimot, which is the third largest player on the Polish fuel market, is diversifying its operations by entering the renewable energy generation business. The company is listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange (ticker: UNT), and its shares closed at 159.00 PLN on June 26, 2026, up 2.71 percent.
With this investment, Unimot joins a growing trend among traditional fuel companies in Poland that are gradually building positions in the renewable energy sector. The wind farm in Gostynin, located in central Poland, will contribute to the country’s energy transition goals while providing the group with a stable revenue stream from green electricity.
Unimot’s move comes as Poland accelerates its shift toward renewables, driven by EU climate targets and rising electricity demand. The company’s IPP strategy allows it to capture value across the entire energy value chain – from generation to trading and sales.
