Six polish energy organizations join forces to launch energy dialogue council

Six key energy industry organizations have signed a landmark agreement in Warsaw, establishing the Energy Dialogue Council (RDE). The new body aims to promote energy sector development based on free market principles, with a strong focus on Poland’s energy security, economic competitiveness, and climate policy.

The agreement was signed on July 1, 2026, at the headquarters of the Polish Chamber of Commerce for Renewable and Distributed Energy (PIGEOR) in Warsaw. The founding organizations include PIGEOR and five other major energy sector associations, representing a broad coalition of stakeholders from across the industry.

The RDE’s mission is built on three core pillars: ensuring reliable energy supplies through distributed renewable sources, storage systems, and smart grids; increasing the share of renewables in Poland’s energy mix in line with EU and national climate targets; and maintaining competitive energy prices for households, public institutions, and businesses.

Three pillars of the new council

Regarding energy security, the council will focus on developing distributed renewable energy sources, energy storage systems, and intelligent power supply and demand management networks. The goal is to reduce dependence on centralized generation and improve the resilience of the national grid.

On climate and energy policy, the RDE will push for a faster transition to renewables in Poland’s energy balance, supporting both EU and national climate objectives. For economic competitiveness, the council aims to ensure that electricity, heat, and fuels remain affordable and accessible for all end users.

– A key priority of the council is to build a space for deepening cooperation and mutual dialogue between representatives of industry organizations operating in the energy sector and related sectors – the founding organizations stated in a joint communique.

A platform for dialogue and cooperation

The creation of the RDE comes at a time when Poland’s energy sector faces multiple challenges, including the need to decarbonize while maintaining energy security and industrial competitiveness. The council is intended to serve as a unified voice for the industry, formulating joint positions and proposals for policymakers.

By bringing together six organizations under one umbrella, the RDE aims to streamline advocacy efforts and present coherent recommendations to the government and regulatory bodies. The initiative reflects a growing recognition that the energy transition requires coordinated action across the entire sector.

The council’s founding members represent a wide spectrum of the energy industry, from renewable energy producers to distributed generation advocates, ensuring that diverse perspectives are included in the dialogue. The RDE will also seek to engage with other stakeholders, including academia, local governments, and consumer groups, to build broad consensus on key energy policy issues.
