PZU launches two new bond ETFs on the Warsaw Stock Exchange

The Warsaw Stock Exchange has welcomed two new exchange-traded funds from TFI PZU: PZU ETF Obligacji Skarbowych Długoterminowych Portfelowy FIZ and PZU ETF Obligacji Skarbowych Zmiennokuponowych Portfelowy FIZ. Both products focus on Polish Treasury bonds, but each is aimed at a different segment of the debt market.

The first of the newly listed funds offers exposure to Polish government bonds with a long maturity profile. The second invests in paper carrying a floating coupon, which means its interest payments can vary over time in line with reference rates.

During Monday’s listing ceremony, Dariusz Kędziora, vice-president of TFI PZU, said bond ETFs are an attractive investment vehicle for many reasons.

– Bond ETFs are a preferred investment direction due to their direct, quick and low-cost nature. They ensure portfolio diversification, and their potential is significant – said Dariusz Kędziora, vice-president of TFI PZU.

– TFI PZU will monitor new changes in the ETF act, on the basis of which it will adjust the diversification of its future ETF offering – he added.

What the PZU ETF range already covers

The two bond strategies are not the only products available under the TFI PZU ETF banner. The current lineup also includes funds giving access to Polish blue chips and mid-caps, namely PZU TFI WIG20 TR + mWIG40 TR, as well as a fund tracking developed markets through PZU ETF MSCI World and a gold-focused product called PZU ETF Gold.

According to the asset manager, the offer now spans the main asset classes used for building long-term investment portfolios. This is meant to give investors a broader set of building blocks when constructing balanced exposure.

Costs and construction

The new ETFs use physical replication, meaning they invest directly in bonds that form part of their benchmark indices. The management fee for the long-term bond ETF has been set at 0.25% annually, while the floating-rate fund has a fee of 0.20% per year.

There is also a temporary cost benefit. Until the end of 2026, all TFI PZU ETFs are exempt from management charges, and the fund house is also covering administrative and operational expenses. This arrangement applies across the whole ETF family, including the two new funds.
