Polish mining machinery manufacturer appoints new vice president

The supervisory board of Patentus, a Polish manufacturer of mining equipment, has appointed Łukasz Duda as vice president. Duda previously served on the supervisory board and worked as a sales representative at the company. The appointment comes as the firm reported a sharp decline in first-quarter revenues and a net loss for 2026.

Łukasz Duda was appointed to the position effective June 26, 2026, for the duration of the current term of the management board. The supervisory board also set the number of board members at three. The current management board consists of Józef Duda as president and Łukasz Duda and Tomasz Duda as vice presidents.

Łukasz Duda’s background and experience

Łukasz Duda is a graduate of the University of Economics in Katowice, where he specialized in distribution and sales in domestic and international markets. He served as a member of the supervisory board of Patentus from 2006 to 2009 and was reappointed to that role in 2014, holding it until June 11, 2026. From November 6, 2019, until his appointment as vice president, he worked at the company as a sales representative.

Financial performance and market challenges

At the end of the first quarter of 2026, Patentus’s sales revenues amounted to PLN 9.5 million, down 71.84% compared to PLN 33.8 million in the same period of 2025. The net loss for the first quarter of 2026 was PLN 5.6 million, compared to a net profit of PLN 6.9 million in the first quarter of 2025. The management board noted that the company’s financial situation in the first quarter of 2026 was significantly affected by market factors.

– In particular, the recorded financial result was a consequence of the limited number of orders executed – said the board in its report.

Patentus produces mining machinery, processes metals, and manufactures steel structures for various applications. The company is headquartered in Pszczyna, Silesia, and its shares are listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
