Polish construction company signs multimillion-euro contract for cogeneration units

Erbud, one of the largest Polish construction groups, has signed a subcontract with Tedom Poland worth 127.7 million PLN net. The contract covers the delivery, installation and commissioning of equipment for the simultaneous production of electricity and heat, as well as a ten-year service period.

The agreement is part of a larger contract Erbud is executing for Getec Energia. The project involves the construction of four gas-fired cogeneration units at the Ostrowski Zakład Ciepłowniczy in Ostrow Wielkopolski. For the main part of the work, Tedom will receive EUR 13.78 million, while the service fee amounts to EUR 7.87 million plus 33.75 million PLN. The equipment must be delivered and commissioned by 30 November 2027.

The four units will have an electric capacity ranging from 3.1 to 3.3 MW (two units) and 4.3 to 4.5 MW (two units), giving a total electric output of 14.8 to 15.6 MW. The investment also includes adapting the switchgear and building a power connection. Performance bonds are set at 10% of the net value, gradually reduced until November 2029. The total limit for contractual penalties is 15% of the remuneration and covers delays and failure to meet guaranteed availability parameters.

Erbud’s strategic move in energy

Erbud is one of Poland’s major construction groups, active in general contracting, energy, industrial services and modular construction. Its portfolio includes the listed company Onde, which specialises in wind farm and photovoltaic projects. In 2025, the Erbud Group achieved revenues of 3.26 billion PLN and EBITDA of 73.3 million PLN, but ended the year with a net loss of 28.3 million PLN. The new contract strengthens Erbud’s position in the energy segment, which is crucial amid the ongoing energy transition.

Cogeneration allows for high efficiency and lower emissions compared to separate heat and power generation. The project will supply both electricity and heat to the local district heating network, improving energy security and efficiency in the region.

Tedom’s expertise in cogeneration

Tedom Polska is part of the Czech energy group Tedom, which focuses on building cogeneration units. The company has sold over 180 cogeneration units in Poland to date. The entire Tedom Group employs more than 1,000 people. The new order further strengthens its presence in the Polish energy market and demonstrates continued demand for gas-based cogeneration solutions.

The contract includes a ten-year service period, ensuring long-term maintenance and operational support. The performance bond will be reduced gradually, reflecting the phased delivery, while the penalty regime covers both delays and performance shortfalls, providing strong incentives for timely and quality execution.
