Polish construction company lands largest contract in its history

B-Act, a Polish engineering and consulting company, has signed its largest-ever contract with the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways (GDDKiA). The deal, worth 35.6 million PLN gross, covers supervision and contract engineering for a 23.4 km section of the S6 expressway between Police and Goleniów, including the construction of Poland’s longest road tunnel.

The project is part of the Western Ring Road of Szczecin (ZOS), a key infrastructure initiative for the region. The consortium led by B-Act includes Swiss ARX Group, Polish Transprojekt Gdański and Przedsiębiorstwo Usług Inwestycyjnych Eko-Inwest. The contract execution period is set between 105 and 129 months.

– Signing this agreement is a milestone in B-Act’s history. This is our largest contract ever, valued at over 35.6 million PLN gross. Over the years we have built the competencies and reference portfolio to carry out projects of this scale. Participating in the construction of the longest road tunnel in Poland as contract engineer and consortium leader is a great honour for us. The implementation under FIDIC conditions opens doors to further prestigious tenders of similar scale, both domestically and internationally – said Adam Białachowski, president of B-Act.

A landmark project for the region

The 23.4 km section connects Police with Goleniów, completing the ring road around the Szczecin agglomeration. The investment is crucial for relieving transit traffic through the city and improving transport accessibility across West Pomerania. The most challenging element will be a 5 km tunnel under the Odra River – the longest road tunnel ever built in Poland.

International consortium and FIDIC standards

The contract is being executed under FIDIC conditions, an international standard for managing infrastructure projects. B-Act, based in Bydgoszcz, has previously worked on projects in Poland, Ukraine, Romania, the Baltic states, South America, and the Middle East. – A contract worth over 35 million PLN gross with a long realisation horizon significantly strengthens the company’s revenue base. For B-Act it means long-term growth in recognition and access to the largest contracts in the country. We have reached a point where, as consortium leader, we can build an international team to oversee the most complex infrastructure projects in Poland – added Adam Białachowski.
