Creotech Instruments has settled another stage of the Mikroglob project with the Armament Agency, receiving PLN 42.1 million for work on a military microsatellite platform. The total contract signed in 2024 is worth approximately PLN 550 million.
The Polish space company is building four satellites on its HyperSat platform, equipped with optoelectronic instruments for reconnaissance in near-infrared and stimulated light. The project includes ground control systems and image data processing, with completion scheduled by the end of the first quarter of 2027. The satellites are expected to launch into sun-synchronous orbit later this year.
According to the agreement, the Armament Agency divided the task into phases that are assessed and approved before each tranche of payment. This latest milestone triggered the release of PLN 42.1 million, confirming progress in one of the most advanced space projects in Poland.
Satellite platform and orbit details
The four satellites will operate on a low sun-synchronous orbit (SSO), allowing them to observe objects under constant lighting conditions at fixed times. They are based on the HyperSat microsatellite platform developed by Creotech. The instruments will provide optical and infrared imaging capabilities for military reconnaissance.
The entire system will be managed by the Polish Armed Forces and the military agency ARGUS (Geospatial Reconnaissance and Satellite Services Agency), as stated by Deputy Defense Minister Cezary Tomczyk.
Strategic independence for Poland
Creotech’s communication noted: – „Project Mikroglob covers phases B, C, D, E1 according to ECSS methodology, and the project completion is scheduled for March 31, 2027, in line with the agreed schedule with the ordering party (Armament Agency)” – the company reported.
The initiative strengthens Poland’s independence in accessing reconnaissance data and builds future capabilities in the space domain. It ensures sovereign observation abilities and supports military operations and national security.
