Poland to host transatlantic energy summit p-tec. 'It’s an honor’

Poland will host the ministerial summit of the Partnership for Transatlantic Energy Cooperation (P-TEC) this November in Warsaw, the country’s energy minister announced on Monday. Miłosz Motyka called the decision “an honor” and stressed the event comes at a pivotal moment for global energy security.

The summit – the most important gathering dedicated to energy security on both sides of the Atlantic – will bring together representatives from the United States, the European Union, and Central and Eastern European countries. Motyka wrote on X that discussions will focus on “building a new architecture for energy security.”

What is p-tec and who is involved

P-TEC is an international platform coordinated by the U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of International Affairs. Its goal is to provide policymakers and civil society stakeholders in Eastern and Central Europe with technical resources and tools to build affordable, reliable, and secure energy systems.

The initiative currently includes the United States, 24 European nations, and the European Union itself. According to the DOE website, P-TEC supports European energy security efforts, including the European Union’s Energy Union framework and the Three Seas Initiative.

Poland’s role on the map of transatlantic energy

Hosting the P-TEC ministerial summit strengthens Poland’s position as a key link between American energy suppliers and the European market. The country has rapidly diversified its energy sources since the war in Ukraine, investing in LNG terminals, renewables, and nuclear power.

“It is an honor that at such an important moment Warsaw will host the world’s energy leaders,” Motyka added. The November meeting is expected to draw high-level delegations from Washington, Brussels, and capitals across the region.
