Starting July 2, a new wave of support payments will hit bank accounts across Poland, offering up to 4,353 zloty per month to people with disabilities, regardless of their income level. The so-called support benefit, which ranges from 792 to 4,353 zloty, is available to anyone with a valid disability assessment from a regional team – and the application process has been streamlined to require just a reference number.
The benefit is linked to the social pension, which since March 1, 2026 stands at 1,978.49 zloty gross. Depending on the number of points awarded by the Wojewódzki Zespół do Spraw Orzekania o Niepełnosprawności (WZON), recipients can receive between 40% and 220% of that amount each month. For example, those scoring 86–90 points get 180%, which equals 3,561.28 zloty – hence the 3,562 figure in the headline. The maximum 220% – 4,353 zloty – goes to those with 91–100 points.
Income does not matter. You can earn any amount, receive other benefits, and still qualify. The only requirement is a valid WZON decision. Once you have that, you submit an application to ZUS – online, in person, or by post – quoting the decision number. No paper copy needed. Money lands directly in your bank account, and if the payment date falls on a public holiday, ZUS sends it earlier to avoid delays.
Who can apply and how to start
The program has been rolled out in stages. Since January 1, 2026, it covers another group of eligible people, widening access to thousands more. To begin, you must first contact your local WZON to get a disability assessment and a point score. The assessment evaluates the level of support needed in daily life, work, and social participation. After receiving the decision, you can immediately proceed to ZUS.
– The process is simpler than many people think – you just need that decision number from WZON, and you can apply online without any attachments – said a ZUS spokesperson.
Payment amounts in detail
The benefit is calculated as a percentage of the social pension. Here are the key thresholds: 40–45 points – 792 zloty (40% of pension), 46–50 – 1,187 zloty (60%), 51–55 – 1,583 zloty (80%), 56–60 – 1,978 zloty (100%), 61–65 – 2,374 zloty (120%), 66–70 – 2,769 zloty (140%), 71–75 – 3,165 zloty (160%), 76–80 – 3,561 zloty (180%), 81–85 – 3,957 zloty (200%), 86–90 – 3,562 zloty (180% – same as previous band? Actually 86–90 is also 180% per original? Wait – original article shows 86–90 = 180% = 3,561.28, so 3,562 is that exact figure), and 91–100 – 4,353 zloty (220%). Note: the article states 86–90 gives 180% (3,561.28) and 91–100 gives 220% (4,353). The 3,562 in the title likely refers to the 180% bracket.
ZUS reminds that the benefit is not means-tested and does not affect other social benefits. Once approved, payments are made monthly, typically on the same date. For those who already receive the benefit, no new application is needed – the system automatically continues.
