Russia carried out a massed overnight attack on Ukrainian cities, leaving four people dead and six injured in Dnipro, regional authorities said. Kyiv and several other areas were also targeted, and officials reported that around a dozen people were harmed in total.
According to Oleksandr Hanzha, head of the Dnipropetrovsk regional military administration, Russian forces struck industrial facilities in three cities of the region at the same time: Dnipro, Kryvyi Rih and Pavlohrad. Six people were injured in those strikes, he said.
– In Dnipro, three people have died so far as a result of the night attack by the Russians. Rescuers are searching for another employee of the enterprise that the enemy attacked – said Oleksandr Hanzha, head of the Dnipropetrovsk regional military administration.
– In Dnipro, rescuers pulled the body of another person from under the rubble. The night attack by the Russians on the city has claimed the lives of four people. We extend our most sincere condolences to the families and loved ones of the deceased – he added.
Kryvyi Rih and Zaporizhzhia under fire
In Kryvyi Rih, an industrial plant was hit during the night by ballistic and cruise missiles of various types, according to Oleksandr Vilkul, a representative of the city’s authorities. No casualties were recorded there.
Zaporizhzhia was shelled twice during the night from Monday to Tuesday. Buildings and private houses were damaged, and a fire broke out in one of the homes, said Mykhailo Semikin, acting head of the Zaporizhzhia regional administration.
Kyiv hit, air defences engage hundreds of targets
In Kyiv, four people were injured as a result of the Russian attacks, the State Emergency Service (DSNS) reported. Three of them were taken to hospital, while rescuers saved 15 more people. A warehouse building burned down in the Kyiv region and four houses were damaged.
Ukraine’s Air Force said Russia used Oniks anti-ship missiles, Iskander-M, S-400 and KN-23 ballistic missiles, four Kalibr cruise missiles, eight Banderol missile-drones and 212 combat drones during the night.
Air defence units reported shooting down 186 targets: one Kalibr cruise missile, eight Banderol missiles and 177 drones of various types. Missiles and drones hit 22 locations, while downed objects fell in four locations.
