On 2 June 2026, during the Eurelectric General Assembly in Helsinki, a decision was made to renew Marcin Laskowski’s mandate on the organisation’s Board of Directors. Laskowski is Vice‑Chair of the Governing Board of the Polish Electricity Association (PKEE) and Vice‑President for Regulatory Affairs at PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna.
Eurelectric is the largest organisation representing the electricity sector in Europe, bringing together several dozen national associations and energy companies from across the continent. The Polish Electricity Association (PKEE) is the sole representative of the Polish energy sector within Eurelectric’s structures and has been participating in the association’s work continuously since 2000. The Eurelectric General Assembly took place as part of the Power Summit 2026 conference, which was held in Helsinki this year.
The renewal of Marcin Laskowski’s mandate ensures continued representation of PKEE in the body that sets the strategic directions of Eurelectric’s activities. This is particularly important at a time when the European energy sector is facing challenges related to the transformation of the industry, security of energy supply and building a competitive and sustainable economy. Thanks to this, the perspective of the Polish industry remains present in discussions on the future of the European energy market.
Marcin Laskowski is a graduate of the Warsaw University of Technology and an Executive MBA programme. He also holds certificates from the International Project Management Association, confirming his qualifications as a project manager. He has specialised in the development of energy infrastructure for 24 years.
He was a long‑time director of the Investment Department at Polish Transmission System Operator (PSE), where he was responsible for the development of the national transmission grid. He actively participated in the creation of legal regulations dedicated to the electricity sector. He was responsible, among other things, for the Poland‑Lithuania electricity interconnection project co‑financed from European funds and for the construction and expansion of the transmission grid for the EURO 2012 championships.
Experience in RES and district heating
In recent years, as part of the Polish Biogas Group (now part of the French TotalEnergies group), Marcin Laskowski prepared and implemented projects in the area of renewable energy sources. In the Polish Biogas Group, he served as President of the Management Board of PGB Inwestycje and Vice‑President of the Management Board of PGB Serwis. As Vice‑President of the Polish Chamber of Renewable and Distributed Energy (PIGEOR), he conducted activities aimed at developing legal regulations to promote the development of the energy sector, including renewables.
On 6 March 2024, the Supervisory Board of PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna adopted a resolution appointing the 12th term Management Board of PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna as of 18 March 2024, entrusting Marcin Laskowski with the position of Vice‑President for Regulatory Affairs. In January 2025, he was also appointed President of the Management Board of the Polish District Heating Association (PTEC).
Significance for Polish energy
Eurelectric is a key organisation for shaping the energy policy of the European Union. Its recommendations and positions are often taken into account by the European Commission when drafting directives and regulations concerning the energy market, climate transformation and security of supply. The presence of a representative of the Polish sector on the Eurelectric Board of Directors gives Poland the opportunity to directly influence these processes.
PKEE has been participating in Eurelectric’s work since 2000, but it has not always had its representative on the Board of Directors. The renewal of Marcin Laskowski’s mandate means a continuation of Polish presence in this body. The Eurelectric Board of Directors consists of representatives of the largest European energy companies and associations and meets regularly several times a year.
