The Centralny Port Komunikacyjny company has collected declarations from property owners willing to hand over their land for the eastern transport hub planned next to the airport. The paperwork submitted so far covers 101 plots with a combined area of 28.5 hectares.
Those declarations are part of the Voluntary Acquisition Programme. Under that scheme the company has already secured 85.2 hectares, which comes to almost 40 percent of the land earmarked for the investment. The location decision for the project area covers 212 hectares in total.
Owners who decide to give up their property can count on an extra 5 percent on top of the compensation they are due. CPK is checking further statements from landowners as they come in.
Thirty days from delivery
The window for voluntary handover runs for 30 days, counted from the moment the owner receives the notification about the location decision. That decision carries an immediate enforceability clause, which opens the way for the company to start applying for building permits for the hub and the infrastructure around it.
The clause does not mean instant expropriation. Taking over property under that procedure becomes possible only once the location decision gains final status.
Where the hub will stand
The eastern transport hub, delivered under the Port Polska programme, is to link rail infrastructure with the road network. It will be built in Mazovia, in Grodzisk county, on the territory of the Baranów and Grodzisk Mazowiecki municipalities.
CPK announced in July that it had received the first 62 declarations from owners concerning voluntary handover of land located within the area covered by the location decision for the eastern hub.
Port Polska reaches far beyond the construction of a new airport. The plans include a high-speed rail line, a road system serving the port, a logistics centre and an Airport City complex. The programme also covers economic and spatial development of the surrounding area, with the Centralny Port Komunikacyjny company responsible for its delivery.
