The planned sale of two subsidiaries from the JSW group will not close this month. On 31 July, Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa announced that the transfer of Przedsiębiorstwo Budowy Szybów and Jastrzębskie Zakłady Remontowe to Agencja Rozwoju Przemysłu has been postponed to 31 October.
The closing date had been set for 31 July, the company confirmed in a current report. The change was introduced through a second annex to the preliminary agreement initially signed with ARP on 9 March. A previous annex had already moved the closing from 30 June to 31 July, so this is the second extension of the original timetable.
JSW did not explain why the deadline was shifted again. The current report only informs about the new date and does not give the reasons behind it. The transaction covers PBSz, a company specialised in shaft construction, and JZR, which performs repair services, both part of the JSW group.
The buyer in the transaction remains Agencja Rozwoju Przemysłu, the party to the preliminary agreement signed in March. The second annex sets the new completion date at 31 October this year.
Core business and market position
The JSW capital group is the sole producer of high-quality hard coking coal in the European Union and one of the leading manufacturers of coke used in steel production. Coal chemicals and coke are important parts of its operations.
In its business profile, the group defines the production and sale of coking coal, coke and coal-derived products as the foundation of its activity. The two divested subsidiaries provide construction and repair work, meaning the transaction does not touch the core coal-to-coke chain directly.
First-half output and annual targets
In the second quarter of 2026, JSW produced 3.23 million tonnes of coal and 0.67 million tonnes of coke. Cumulative production after the first half reached 6.46 million tonnes of coal and 1.43 million tonnes of coke.
Those results put the group at 48.6 percent of its annual coal production target and 41.6 percent of the planned coke output. The company did not link these figures to the postponed asset transfer in the current report.
