The Future Mining Forum & Expo is set to take place from September 9 to 11 in Katowice. The event will bring together representatives of administration and business to discuss key challenges for the European economy and the direction of transformation across heavy industry.
The three-day program focuses on critical issues such as raw material security, critical and copper metals, metallurgy, modern technologies, digitalization, the transformation of industrial regions, and the development of infrastructure and value chains. Each session has been prepared with input from administration, business, science, and technology providers, creating a space for multi-perspective dialogue on the future of industry.
Organizers have begun to reveal the first speakers, who include representatives from public administration, major industrial enterprises, mining and resources companies, and experts shaping the sector’s development directions. The forum is expected to host leaders from Polish mining groups, energy firms, and European institutions.
Key topics on the agenda
The program covers a wide range of subjects critical to the future of the mining and resources sector. Raw material security is at the forefront, with discussions on how Europe can reduce dependence on imports and strengthen its own supply chains. Critical metals and copper will be highlighted as strategic resources for the energy transition and defense industries.
Another major theme is digitalization and modern technologies. Sessions will explore how artificial intelligence, automation, and data analytics can improve efficiency and safety in mining operations. The transformation of industrial regions, particularly in Silesia, will also be addressed, with a focus on creating new jobs and diversifying local economies.
Hutnictwo, or metallurgy, and the development of infrastructure for hydrogen and renewable energy are also on the table. The forum aims to connect traditional heavy industry with cutting-edge innovation and sustainability goals.
