EV fast charging hubs to launch at Agata furniture showrooms

Polish furniture retail chain Agata has teamed up with E.ON Drive Infrastructure (EDRI) Poland to place ultra-fast EV charging stations at its showrooms, with the first sites set to open in 2026.

The project covers multiple locations across Poland. According to the companies, the initial scope included more than 30 showroom sites, but the list has already grown. The infrastructure will operate as High Power Charging (HPC) hubs rated at 200–400 kW, with each hub equipped with 2–5 stations, allowing 4–10 EVs to charge simultaneously.

The HPC units will be installed in the immediate vicinity of Agata showrooms, on existing parking areas. Final technical specifications will depend on the individual location and the available capacity of the local power grid. The chargers are designed to extend an EV’s range by up to several hundred kilometres within a few to a dozen or more minutes, assuming the vehicle can accept such power.

Retail locations as charging hubs

– We observe how the market and customer expectations are changing, with more and more users of electric vehicles among our customers. We know that fast and accessible charging is very important for them, so we want to give them this possibility through cooperation with EDRI Poland – said Wojciech Frysz, director of property management at Agata S.A.

– Since the start of the cooperation, its initial scope, which covered more than 30 locations, has already been expanded with additional points on our shared map. The project is therefore open and long-term – said Jacek Błaszczyński, managing director of EDRI Poland.

Poland’s public charging network still has gaps

The announcement comes at a time when Poland’s public EV charging infrastructure is growing but remains uneven in terms of power. According to data from EIPA, at the beginning of June 2026 the national network comprised 13,392 charging points. Just 3,132 of them offered charging power equal to or above 100 kW, and only 813 exceeded 200 kW.

High-power charging has so far been found mainly along motorways and expressways. Placing such hubs at furniture showrooms gives EDRI and Agata a retail-based alternative for drivers, who can charge their vehicles during a visit to the store.
