Polish electric-vehicle owners may soon charge their cars while shopping for furniture. E.ON Drive Infrastructure Poland has joined forces with the Agata furniture showroom chain to build fast charging stations at its retail locations, with the first sites scheduled to open in 2026.
The partnership covers Agata showrooms across Poland. Initially, the map included more than 30 locations, and the companies have already extended the list by adding further points. Jacek Błaszczyński, managing director of EDRI Poland, said the initiative is open and long-term.
– Since the start of our cooperation, its initial scope covering more than 30 locations has already expanded by further points on our common map. The project is therefore open and long-term in nature – said Jacek Błaszczyński, managing director of E.ON Drive Infrastructure (EDRI) Poland.
Agata, a Polish home furnishing brand, sees growing demand from customers who drive electric vehicles. Wojciech Frysz, property management director at Agata S.A., said convenient charging is becoming a key expectation and the company wants to respond through the partnership with EDRI Poland.
– We are watching how the market and customer expectations are changing, as more and more of them use electric vehicles. We know that fast and accessible charging is very important to them, which is why we want to make it possible through cooperation with EDRI Poland – commented Wojciech Frysz, director of property management at Agata S.A.
Fast charging with motorway-class power
The hubs will be built next to Agata showrooms throughout Poland and will use High Power Charging technology. The equipment will offer between 200 and 400 kW, a performance range usually found along motorways and expressways. Depending on the location, a hub may have two to five stations, which means four to ten cars can be charged at the same time.
The final technical specifications are not fixed and will depend on the individual site and on how much grid capacity is available there. For drivers, the main advantage of HPC chargers is time efficiency: within a few to a dozen or so minutes, the vehicle can gain enough energy to extend its range by up to several hundred kilometres, although the exact figure is controlled by the car’s own technical capabilities.
Polish charging network still lacks high-power connectors
The move comes at a time when the Polish public charging network remains heavily concentrated in slower categories. According to data from EIPA, at the beginning of June 2026 there were 13,392 public charging points in Poland. Only 3,132 of them had a power rating of 100 kW or more, and just 813 units were able to deliver more than 200 kW.
The first Agata locations are to be made available to clients in 2026. According to the companies, the project is open and long-term.
