Eu millions boost production development for pge group subsidiary

Bestgum Polska, a company owned by PGE Górnictwo i Energetyka Konwencjonalna (PGE GiEK), has secured over 15 million PLN in EU funding for the purchase of two new technological lines. The total project cost is estimated at more than 30 million PLN, with completion scheduled for the end of 2028, according to PGE GiEK.

The grant comes from the Regional Programme Fundusze Europejskie dla Łódzkiego 2021-2027. The investment is intended to modernize the company’s production capabilities and support the development of new products for the construction, logistics, and recycling sectors.

Two new lines for rubber products and conveyor components

The first production line will be dedicated to manufacturing rubber goods used in road and railway construction, as well as sports and recreational facilities. It will also enable the recycling of waste from these products. The second line is designed to produce specialized rollers for conveyor belts, which are essential in logistics centers, warehouses, maritime transport, waste sorting plants, and the sugar industry.

– This investment is a significant step forward for our company and for the entire region. The new lines will allow us to offer more advanced products while also contributing to the circular economy through recycling capabilities – said Grzegorz Trojan, president of Bestgum Polska.

The project is expected to create new jobs and strengthen the local economy in the Łódź voivodeship. The EU funding covers approximately half of the total investment, with the remainder financed by Bestgum Polska.

Strategic importance for PGE GiEK and the energy group

Bestgum Polska is part of the PGE Group, one of Poland’s largest energy conglomerates. The investment aligns with the group’s strategy to diversify its activities beyond traditional energy generation and into industrial production and recycling.

PGE GiEK emphasized that the project supports the development of innovative technologies and enhances the competitiveness of Polish industry. The new lines are expected to be fully operational by the end of 2028, after which Bestgum Polska will increase its market share both domestically and abroad.
