Energa Group reported a sharp jump in first-half operating profit, which reached PLN 1.958bn in January-June 2026 compared with PLN 1.464bn a year ago. EBITDA for the period rose to PLN 2.719bn from PLN 2.174bn.
Revenue from sales increased to PLN 11.198bn from PLN 10.908bn, and the main driver was higher volumes in the distribution segment, according to the company’s stock-market report. The reported figure covers the period from January to June 2026.
In the second quarter alone, EBITDA came to PLN 1.19bn versus PLN 1.01bn in the same period of 2025.
Segment breakdown: retail rebound and distribution strength
The retail business line delivered EBITDA of PLN 393m, more than triple the PLN 124m reported a year earlier. A favourable change in provisions for onerous contracts had a major impact, along with a higher cumulative margin on energy sold to business customers, reflecting larger sales volumes and better unit margins.
Distribution, the group’s largest earnings pillar, raised EBITDA by PLN 284m to PLN 1.919bn. The improvement was linked to a higher margin, which came from greater sales volumes and lower network losses.
Within group EBITDA, distribution accounted for 71%, retail for 14%, new energy for 10%, heating for 2% and professional power for 1%.
Capacity market and company profile
Capacity-market revenue reached PLN 234m in the first half of 2026, including PLN 115m generated in the second quarter. For comparison, a year earlier the figures stood at PLN 156m and PLN 75m respectively.
Energa is one of Poland’s four largest energy groups, active in electricity generation, sales and distribution. Its network extends over roughly 200,000 km, covers about one-quarter of the country’s area and supplies approximately 3.4 million customers.
