Cpk signs key agreement. Billion-dollar support for companies involved in the project

Poland’s Centralny Port Komunikacyjny, the company behind the Port Polska megaproject, has signed a memorandum of understanding with Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego to provide financial backing for domestic firms in the supply chain. The deal aims to strengthen local contractors and ensure the timely delivery of one of Europe’s largest infrastructure ventures.

The agreement, announced on July 1, 2026, covers financing for Polish companies working on the new airport, rail links, and road networks. BGK, Poland’s state development bank, will offer loans, guarantees, and contract securities to small and medium-sized enterprises as well as larger industrial groups.

The total cost of Port Polska is estimated at 131 billion złoty, with the airport component alone exceeding 40 billion złoty. BGK has identified the project as a strategic priority alongside nuclear power plants.

Building a local ecosystem

During a press conference, Filip Czernicki, CEO of CPK, stressed the importance of creating a competitive supplier base around the investment. – We want a strong, competitive ecosystem of suppliers – from preparation through construction to maintenance. The cooperation with BGK will give businesses access to financial instruments and contract security, allowing them to develop production capacity and skills. Local content is not just a slogan for us; it is concrete action to embed the investment’s value in the Polish economy – he said.

Long-term financial commitment

Mirosław Czekaj, president of BGK, underlined the bank’s role in national development. – Transport infrastructure is the circulatory system of the economy. For BGK, as a development bank, investments in Polish infrastructure are strategic. Projects like Port Polska create a unique opportunity to build the competence of Polish entrepreneurs – he noted.

Czekaj added that while BGK has substantial financial capacity, it is not unlimited. The main stream of funding will be directed to flagship initiatives such as Port Polska and nuclear power stations. The bank will prioritize those projects that offer long-term economic returns and strengthen domestic industry know-how.

The memorandum sets a framework for regular consultations between CPK and BGK on financing needs, risk assessment, and support instruments tailored to the construction phase. Both sides expect the first contracts backed by BGK guarantees to be signed within months.
