Without a developed digital infrastructure, Poland will not improve its economic efficiency and the countries it wants to catch up with are simply running away, warns Dominik Leszczyński, founder and CEO of DL Invest Group.
Speaking during a meeting of EEC Members, Leszczyński stressed that the development of digital infrastructure, particularly data centers, is a key condition for supporting Poland’s economic growth. He pointed out that Poland no longer has the advantage of cheap labor, so improving efficiency requires automation and robotics, which are impossible without a solid digital backbone.
– Polish industry and manufacturing need to improve efficiency and competitiveness. Without the right digital infrastructure, we will not improve efficiency. We no longer have the advantage of cheap labor. Development requires automation and robotics, and without digital infrastructure, we will not move forward – said Leszczyński.
Leszczyński highlighted France as an example of proactive government policy. The French government has simplified decision-making paths, appointed a cross-ministerial representative, and actively courted American investments at the presidential level. – In two years, the digital infrastructure market has changed as much as industry did in two decades. We have to keep up with this crazy pace. France is leading, Germany is chasing effectively, and we are standing in the blocks – he added.
The digital race is accelerating
According to Leszczyński, planning investments in AI and data centers requires great flexibility because the market changes dynamically. What is planned and ordered today may be obsolete in two years. He called for coordinated government actions and effective support to prevent Poland from losing the race.
– This is a key moment for Europe and for Poland. Data centers are becoming elements of critical infrastructure, the foundation for economic development and security of every country – he said.
Leszczyński emphasized that Poland’s economy is large and strong enough to attract investments, but only if the right conditions are created. – If we delay, the market will escape us. A large and strong economy like ours attracts investments, but they need to be given the right conditions – he stated.
Data centers as critical infrastructure
DL Invest Group is making digital infrastructure and data centers the main focus of its operations in the coming years. The company sees this as a strategic sector that can underpin the entire Polish economy. Leszczyński argued that without government support, similar to that seen in France, Poland will miss the window of opportunity.
– To start in this race, we need coordinated actions at the government level and effective support. If we wait too long, the market will slip away from us – he warned. The executive pointed out that what is planned and ordered today may be at a completely different point in two years due to the sector’s rapid evolution.
Leszczyński’s comments come as Poland faces increasing pressure to modernize its economy and compete with Western European neighbors. The development of data centers is seen as critical for enabling Artificial Intelligence, cloud computing, and advanced manufacturing.
