From March 1, 2026, the supplement to the social pension amounts to PLN 2,704.71 gross. This benefit is indexed annually in March and is paid together with the social pension. The Social Insurance Institution (ZUS) disburses payments on six fixed dates each month. We explain who is eligible for the supplement and what formalities are required.
The supplement is available to individuals receiving a social pension who have been certified as completely unable to work and incapable of independent living. After the March 2026 indexation, the monthly amount is PLN 2,704.71 gross. The sum is increased once a year as part of the statutory indexation.
Who qualifies for the supplement?
Not everyone is entitled to the full amount. If a beneficiary earns income from employment or business activity, ZUS may reduce the supplement or suspend its payment temporarily. The final decision depends on the level of the achieved income.
The supplement is not paid to individuals in temporary detention or serving a prison sentence. An exception applies to those serving a sentence under electronic surveillance. As ZUS explains, applications for the supplement are processed by the branch competent for the applicant’s place of residence or another unit designated by the president of the Social Insurance Institution.
When will the payments arrive?
The benefit is granted from the month in which all required conditions are met. However, it cannot be awarded for a period earlier than the month of submitting the application. The supplement is disbursed together with the social pension.
ZUS pays the social pension along with the supplement on six fixed dates each month. If the payment date falls on a Saturday, Sunday or a public holiday, the funds are transferred earlier – on the last working day preceding the scheduled date. That is exactly what will happen in the coming days. Since August 1 falls on a Saturday, the money will be transferred on July 31.
